September 29, 2003

Dear Erik,

Man, I can't believe I missed you by two months. Since Spring, I've been working on this site (admittedly finding much less time than I thought I'd have) and sending out feelers. I E-mailed a barely-working site someone had put up for you, I posted to the Iron Butterfly board... but was never able to establish contact. Thank you for your art, your reverb-drenched fuzzed-out contribution to the soundtracks of so many lives. So you checked out July 29. I hope it was peaceful. The '70s must have been strange; it was for many guys like you, out of the limelight by choice or by the  ever-unceasing tide that counts down that proverbial 15 minutes of fame. Few are able to make such ripples as yours in such a short time, and though I regret never getting the opportunity to speak with you about your gear and Muse, I am deeply grateful to you for sharing your talent and creativity with us all. Peace on your journey, brother.
